Instructions
Stand in front of a loaded barbell.
Spread your feet wide and point your toes out. Have your shins an inch or two from the bar.
Lean forward and grab the bar with a double overhand grip. Your hands should be several inches apart.
Bend your knees and bring your chest out to position yourself against the bar, and straighten your back.
Initiate the pull by digging your heels into the floor and flexing your legs.
Extend your hips and knees until you’re upright.
Immediately pull the barbell in a straight vertical line as you extend your body.
Lift the bar until it reaches chest level and breathe out.
Lower the bar and hinge at the hips as the weight reaches your upper thighs.
Lower the bar in the same straight vertical line.
Breathe in on the way down or before initiating the next rep.
